Disclaimer: The following analysis is based on the assumption that the natal date and place of the Bitcoin are as shown on its Genesis block i.e. 18:05 UT, and the place of birth is London UK based on The Times quotation contained in that block.
In light of today’s Total Solar Eclipse on the 8th of April 2024, I got inspired to do a quick analysis on the Lunar Nodes of Bitcoin and see how its North Node a.k.a Caput Draconis and its South Node a.k.a Cauda Draconis describe and affect its evolution and lifecycle.
The Nodes are the two Astronomical points of intersection between the Moon’s orbit and the Ecliptic since there is a 5° tilt between these orbit planes. What is more, the Nodes are approximately opposite to one another, thus forming the Nodal Axis. One of the reasons that justify their importance is that eclipses are observed around these points. Astrologically, the Nodal axis describes Bitcoin’s lifecycle journey, or the evolutionary process of our system in question. The North Node suggests the pathway towards breaking new ground and is more aligned to its lifetime purpose. The South Node describes its legacy, innate skills, abilities and qualities, and in general its comfort zone or sweet spot. Having these definitions in mind, the Nodal axis becomes the process of stepping onto the abilities provided by the South Node to reach for the North Node’s needed challenges and experiences in order for Bitcoin to further mature, excel and eventually be even more adopted.
Bitcoin’s Nodal axis falls purely into the East/West hemisphere division and almost coincides with the Ascendant/Descendant axis, suggesting Bitcoin faces issues on how to keep and assert its identity as it forms relationships and interconnections with other systems and stakeholders. It probably needs to allow for, and even coordinate with other systems, such as maybe the ones from layer 2 and 3, in order to truly shine and achieve its full potential. Positive polarity adds an extravert, assertive quality, making it reasonable for Bitcoin to pursue tangible objectives and milestones that overall can be practically reached. More like, from Issues, to Pull Requests, to Bitcoin Improvement Proposals, soft-forks and even hard-forks when needed, form an exemplar approach of structured evolution. Fixity is engaged as the background of the Nodal Axis, which means Bitcoin is attuned to stability, persistence and loyalty to its community. More importantly, these traits are exactly what is needed for the task it has set itself towards. The elements of the axis are Fire/Air which brings surges of enthusiasm that could, however, easily die away if they are not backed with data and rationality. Boy, haven’t we seen that one in the price winters and summers!
Leo/Aquarius signs suggest a lifecycle moving from the self-centred orientation, creativity and confidence to the detached, humanitarian, impersonal and unconventional. It has a tendency to dominate, a fondness to be adopted by those it targets and a humanitarian outlook in which, however, does not have the central role. It has to allow space to other things for the greater benefit. Seen from a higher perspective it is not the end goal but it provides the necessary means for these humanitarian efforts to eventually succeed. Moving to the houses, they are 1st/7th which indicate it does need to develop leadership abilities and cooperate with others to gain approval, rather than sacrifice itself for them. Plainly said, it is not just a pilot system that got things into motion and will dissolve over time for better approaches to take over. Finally, there is an indication of parental issues that need to be worked out as well. Satoshi being elusive, the recent trial with the fraud claiming to be its creator and the litigation from its supporters in its defence, are on the spot examples of issues of that type and they are most probably to continue in the future until they are finally resolved.
Moon in Aries in the 8th house trines (i.e. is at 120° with) the South Node which suggests that there is a flow of energy that is likely to provide support to the lifecycle and enhance its innate abilities from experiences involving safety and security, satisfaction of basic needs, fluctuations and instinctive responses, displayed with initiative, drive, self-motivation, action and leadership, in the areas of joint finances, shared resources, crises and regeneration. These characteristics support Bitcoin, help it sustain in difficulty and eventually having a chance to prosper. Even the extreme fluctuations seems to be part of its evolutionary process and we should probably treat them like so.
Leo Ascendant makes a conjunction-opposition to the Nodal Axis meaning that Bitcoin approaches the world creatively, generously, loyally and authoritatively, and this is to be experienced as a more active force throughout its existence. Aquarius Descendant makes a conjunction-opposition to the Nodal axis as well, which translates to actively approaching relationships in society-oriented, independent, humanitarian, eccentric and idealistic but also in inflexible ways. Like it or not, Bitcoin connects that way and we all would be better off getting used to them.
Rulers of the North Node are Saturn in Virgo in the 2nd house and Uranus in Pisces in 8th house. So, from the placement of Saturn we get emphasis to the evolution process and to breaking new ground from authority with realism, organisation, method and responsibility in analytical, efficient and practical ways in the areas of personal finances, money and security. From the placement of Uranus, the lifecycle journey and its opportunities for growth get support from innovation, rebellion, independence, breakthrough and awakening in sensitive, compassionate but unfocused ways and in the areas of money belonging to others and legacies.
However, it cannot go unnoticed that the two rulers are forming an opposition between them as well. As a further challenge to incorporate for growing further it needs to work on the active swing between the methodical structure in personal money and the imaginative but dreamy innovation and awakening in the area of joint finances. On the one, it imposes us to take a structured approach towards our holdings, but it seems to be more detached and unfocused towards the collective capital. That works the other way around as well. It imaginatively innovates in joint finance, but it is held back on our own money.
On the other hand, the ruler of the South Node is the Sun in Capricorn in the 6th house. Here Bitcoin’s sweet spot and the lifecycle is supported by power and vitality, identity, purpose and creative impulse in ambitious but frugal, conservative and realistic ways in the areas of service, work and everyday life. Isn’t that beautiful, Bitcoin has an ambition to service us every day in perpetuity!
To conclude, the Nodal axis analysis assisted us to describe the lifecycle of Bitcoin, what helps it grow and what challenges its evolution. It is far from a complete Astrological interpretation, but it elegantly points out an overall behaviour and offers just another approach to get a better understanding.
